The Kendriya
Vidyalaya at Haflong is located amidst the lush green valleys of
Haflong. The total area covers an expanse of 12.34 acres with the
45 Assam Rifles adjoining its boundaries. Though initially
started under the banner of the SSB in the year 1989, it was
shifted to the civil sector in year 2004 and
directly comes under the supervision of the
Deputy Commissioner Dima Hasao (N.C. Hills)
Assam, the
chairman VMC.
The classrooms, other related
activity rooms and the temporary accommodation for staff,
constructed in the Assam type of buildings caters to the needs of
the students and staff members.
The school has a self sufficient play ground that is spacious
enough to conduct all the outdoor sports and games.
Inspite of being a single sectioned school all the
activities as per the schedule and design formed by the KVS are
adhered to. The school boasts of producing a 100 % and 96.2 %
pass in the 2009 class XII and Class X board examination
respectively. The construction of a new school building is a
likely activity in the near future.
With
enthusiastic, zealous staff members and students the Vidyalaya
shall always rise to the expectations of the country and in
transforming the nation as an enterprising one.
